In our first episode of Season 2, Quinn and Josh talk about the vision of Leveling Up, High Level Games, some of our awesome accomplishments, and what we hope our community can bring to gaming as a whole. We briefly discuss HLG Con in Atlantic City Oct 12-14 2018 and talk some of the new products we've launched as well. HLG is seriously leveling up, will you Level Up with us? In this episode of The Inept Gamer VP Quinn tries his hand at being a genetically modified super soldier in Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine. Space Marine is a 3rd person shooter, which Joel hopes will help Quinn out a bit, as his experience with first person shooters generally tends to devolve to looking directly at the ground and firing while being on fire himself. Come watch the great and mighty Space Marine take on hordes of orcs while working to liberate a critical manufacturing planet! For those who have watched "The Inept Gamer" and seen VP Quinn struggle with NOT shooting the ground as he rolls around doing his best impression of an actual fireball at the end of a flamethrower you may be wondering how the game can look in online play... Well Joel has put together a short video of some of his highlights to contrast the Inept Gamer from a non-Inept Gamer. Most of the servers I play on are hardcore mode, meaning 200% weapon damage, which explains why bolt action rifles are kills no matter what range, and some servers don't even have enemy markers or kill text on as well. Come see the difference that some actual video game experience can make, and go watch Quinn try it in our previous video to compare. GenCon Presentation Saturday August 2017, Dhaunae De Vir, Shane DeFreest, Martin Ericsson, and Karim Muammar In this episode VP Quinn gets thrown face first into Diablo 3. I picked this game because it seemed like it would be an easy game for him to try, and it is quite fun too. Come watch and see what class he picks (he has a type, I'm sure some of you can guess) and listen as he furiously flails at the mouse and keyboard while trying to make things actually happen! Unfortunately the recording for this episode bugged just after where I cut this movie so it doesn't quite go to the end, but when I asked Quinn how he liked the game he said that it was pretty fun, though it didn't grab him quite as well as some of the other games we've put him through. He did like how the game starts you off really easy and lets you just get into it right away and start doing things and feeling baddass from the start. This was one of the games played at our HLG Corporate Retreat back on June 3. The dying wish of an old man brings several disparate family members back to their ancestral home. There, they discover their patriarch's secret and more about themselves than they ever wanted. Call of Cthulhu 7th edition, run by David Horwitz. In this episode of The Inept Gamer VP Quinn gets brought back in time to World War 1 in Battlefield 1. Come watch as he experiences the push out of a trench into enemy gunfire and artillery, crews the steel beast that is the Mark V tank, equips heavy armor and a machine gun with the Sentry kit and faces off against hordes of German soldiers equipped with bolt action rifles, stick grenades and flame throwers! Watch as Quinn flails around while trying to find the enemy who is shooting him (which is quite often no more than a few feet away) and rolls around shooting the ground as he doesn't find the flamethrower that is roasting him from behind. Come enjoy the barbecue! The following is a High Level Games Special Report! This video has been put together by Rui, one of our columnists, for your viewing pleasure and covers the article "6 Reasons Why Lovecraft Is The Best At Gaming Horror." In it Rui covers one of his own articles about what makes Lovecraft horror really stand out above the rest for gaming. Click Here for the original article! In this episode of The Inept Gamer VP Quinn revisits XCOM 2 to see if he can remember how to play it, and to try to not utterly fail all of humanity in the struggle against the Advent. Can he learn how to use the Avenger's systems to start to build the rebellion? Can he make it through a few more missions and still have enough living squad members to put into the field for the next mission yet? Come find out! In this episode of "The Inept Gamer" VP Quinn gets to drive a tank! The game is War Thunder, and we put Quinn into the ground forces part of the game where you command a WWII tank against other players over the internet. The game is a bit simpler than Quinn's attempt at Mechwarrior Online as the tank only has one cannon and possibly a machine gun or two, but there are a lot more technical details to worry about in the game such as where is your (and their) armor the thickest and what types of ammo to use, as well as trying to stay angled towards the target. Target spotting can also be tough as Quinn finds out. Come watch the adventure as Quinn gets shot and doesn't see where from, and constantly looks the wrong way in frustration as I shout out which way to look for where the enemies are. It helps to add to the chaos and shows some of the confusion that the actual tank crews could have felt! |
